Red Letter Days Affiliate Cup 2011
For the third year running Red Letter Days held their annual Affiliate Cup on Thursday 14th July. The day was attended by Red Letter Days’, Affiliate Window and Affilinet staff plus numerous publishers including Nectar, Top Cash Back, Money Supermarket and Quidco.
The event is designed to give publishers an insight into the range of Red Letter Days experiences plus a chance to get closer to the brand; and in addition to reward them for their hard work and contribution to the success of the affiliate programme.
This year the day consisted of eight teams with each team comprising a network representative, a member of the Red Letter Days team and publishers. Their challenge was to complete various Bond inspired challenges to earn Spy Dollars, with the team with the most Spy dollars at the end of the day getting to take home the prestigious Red Letter Days Affiliate cup.
The day included a number of exciting activities, such as Axe Throwing, Sniper Shooting and Pistol draw, plus some mind boggling challenges such as Code Breaking and Safe Cracking.
For the past two years Affilinet have been the proud winners of the cup. They have successfully competed in Country Pursuit activities such as Archery, Quad biking, Segway driving, Blind Driving, Clay Pigeon Shooting and many more. However, this year Affilinet were not able to retain the cup, having to pass the trophy over to the winning Affiliate Window team.
Claire Baker, Team Leader, from Affiliate Window said: “As part of the Account Management team for Red Letter Days I get to experience the organisation’s precision and flair with which they run their programme on a first hand basis. But the way the Affiliate Day was planned and executed was on a whole other level. From the onset Red Letter Days set out to make this year’s event bigger and better than last. The ‘Spy Games’ theme had just the right mix of physical and mental challenges to get everyone involved. The day presented an excellent opportunity to get up to date with the plans of various Red Letter Days affiliates, and build upon these relationships. The day flew by and before we knew it, we were walking away with the shiny trophy which will have pride of place in our offices until next year.”
Last year’s winner Pete Berry, Publisher Services Manager from Affilinet said: “The 2011 Red Letter Days Affiliate Day was a great day all round. The activities struck the right balance between fun and the more important aspects of relationship building. The team approach encouraged networking; with numerous opportunities to catch up with publishers, clients and network staff. The entire day ran seamlessly and successfully apart from the scoring system; as we finally lost our grip on the trophy. For me the day was yet another prime example of Red Letter Days’ commitment to the affiliate channel.”
